Valley residents can expect the arrival of a Wingstop franchise in Ridgecrest in the near future. The aviation-themed Texas chicken wing restaurant plans on opening a new location in the old Starbucks building in the Ridgecrest Town Center on China Lake Boulevard.

The announcement came from last week’s Ridgecrest Economic Development Committee meeting. According to Administrative Analyst Ashlin Mattos, the city has contacted representatives with Dunkin (formerly Dunkin Donuts), Panera Bread, Panda Express and Chipotle – one or more of which may set up shop near Walmart.

Other venders the city has taken an interest in are Smart & Final, Ross and Burlington.

Mayor Pro Tem Lindsey Stephens announced during Wednesday’s City Council meeting that she would be part of a group attending the International Council of Shopping Centers convention in Las Vegas next week to “entice businesses to come to our community.”
