Renowned duo to perform in Ridgecrest May 14

Renowned duo to perform in Ridgecrest May 14The Maturango Museum will continue its concert series Tuesday, May 14, with a performance by Steve Lawless and Dell Yount of Los Angeles in the Coso Gallery at 7 p.m.

“The perfect Mother’s Day gift for your mom, grandma or best gal is an evening of unforgettable music from Broadway and the Big Band era of music and beyond,” said a spokesperson. “This musical journey down Memory Lane, entitled ‘Piano and Song: Memories of Music,’ will be presented by two talented gentlemen who have performed together for over 30 years.”

Lawless plays piano by ear and has a vast catalog of songs in his head, so he will take song requests during the show. Yount is a former theater arts professor and actor, with more than 25 years of experience on stage, television and film. He also has 50 years of Broadway-style singing to audiences.

“So select a few old favorite tunes, buy your tickets and prepare for a memorable evening of entertainment!”

The duo will also give special performances at several local venues that cater to seniors citizens. For details, see next week’s edition.

Early ticket purchase is recommended, and tickets are available at the museum store or online at shop.maturango.org. The ticket prices are $20 or $5 for children 12 years old and younger.
