Team honored by Air Dominance DivisionThe Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile Live Fire Team at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, composed of members from the Weapons and Energetics Department and the Integrated System Evaluation, Experimentation and Test Department, was recognized as the 2018 Joint U.S. Air Force Air Dominance Division’s Fourth Quarter External Team of the Quarter during a ceremony Feb. 14 at China Lake.

According to the letter of appreciation they received, the team deployed to multiple locations abroad to conduct telemetry data collection and analysis operations in extreme weather under austere conditions. One hundred percent of the objectives were met, and the international customers were extremely satisfied.

“I want to thank the team for all of their flexibility and all the obstacles we overcame during the two trips. There were a lot of them,” said Matthew Zubia, lead test engineer for the team. “I really appreciate you all for everything you’ve done and for getting us to this point. The customers are very happy.”

Team members included Robin Bare, COMSEC technician; Luis “Mike” Bobadilla, flight test engineer; Ann Garot, IT specialist; Jay Kucera, flight test engineer; James Lonzo, ordnance lead, and Zubia.
