Police recover property, make arrest

While conducting a follow-up search regarding a burglary case, officers of the Ridgecrest Police Department received information of stolen property possibly located in a residence at 135 W. Robertson Ave., according to a press release from RPD.

On April 7 officers reportedly responded to the residence and located Jose Munoz Baltierrez, 20, who was on an active felony warrant and subject to search terms.

Officers searched Baltierrez’s residence and found $1,400 in suspected stolen property from the burglary case.

Officers also found narcotics, a digital scale, individual plastic baggies and counterfeit currency, according to the release.

Baltierrez was taken into custody for felony charges of first-degree burglary, knowingly receiving stolen property, grand theft and forgery/counterfeit and misdemeanor charges of controlled substance possession and resisting arrest.

He was booked in the Bakersfield Central Receiving Facility in lieu of $70,000 bail.

His bail review and pre-preliminary hearing are scheduled for April 16, 10:30 a.m. in Ridgecrest, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 18.
