SSUSD addresses sub accusations

SSUSD addresses sub accusationsAt press time, the News Review learned that David Whitley, formerly employed as a substitute for Sierra Sands Unified School District, has been accused by a local parent of inappropriately touching a student.

Whitley was allegedly charged (though not convicted) of child molestation while teaching under the name “David Deshler.”

“We take seriously any concerns related to any form of conduct that is or may be harmful to a student,” said SSUSD?Superintendent Ernie Bell in a statement. He said that while Whitely is no longer employed by the district, parents with concerns should contact the Human Resource office at 760-499-1620.

The News Review will follow up with a more in-depth report as the details become available.
