NAWCWD Executive Associate Cyndi Townsend retiresCyndi Townsend, retiring executive associate for the commander of Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, closed out her career during a flag-raising ceremony at China Lake on Jan. 28. “Thank you all for being here,” she said. “It’s been a great journey and now I’m on to my next, which will be with my husband doing the things that we’ve planned for all these years.” Townsend, who is shown with her husband Ed, began her career in the Aeronautics and Thermal Analysis Section before moving on to support the Airframe Ordnance and Propulsion Division and the Weapons Systems Engineering Division. She also served as a business financial program analyst for the Tactical Weapons Program Office and as a specialist and lead for the Protocol Office. In her career she received two Commander’s Awards. “If it were entirely up to us, we would never let you go,” said Rear Adm.
