Bower receives flag for 45 years of serviceDavid Bower receives an American flag raised in honor of his 45 years of federal service during a ceremony at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake on Jan. 31. Bower enlisted in the Navy in 1974, serving with Attack Fighter Squadron 94 aboard USS Oriskany (CV 34). In 1978, he was hired as a contractor at what is now the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, where he worked with the Marine Sciences Division. During his time at China Lake, Bower developed electronic commerce and financial systems software and performed test and software project management.
