Groundwater presentation is March 20

The public is invited to preview a draft report on the Hydrogeological Conceptual Model of the Indian Wells Valley groundwater basin on Wednesday morning, before Thursday’s IWV Groundwater Authority meeting.

The HCM includes more than 1000 wells, monitoring data from the Kern County Water Agency and hundreds of miles of seismic data. The report also includes information from five Stanford University’s brackish water tests and SkyTEM’s aerial geophysical survey.

The HCM is being freely shared with the IWV Groundwater Authority through Water Resources Management firm Stetson Engineers and the IWVGA's Policy and Technical Advisory Committees, as well as the U.S. Navy and Desert Research Institute.

Team members from Ramboll Consulting, along with the IWV Water District's consulting hydrogeologist Tim Parker, will present the information.

The presentation is 10 a.m. at City Hall and will be streamed live and available for later viewing on the city’s YouTube page.
