Holden takes viewers ‘north to Alaska!’

Holden takes viewers ‘north to Alaska!’The Maturango Museum will present “North to Alaska!” a slide-illustrated lecture scheduled for Sunday, March 17, at 3 p.m.

“BJ Holden will give a delightful photographic presentation on her 2014 RV trip to Alaska,” said a spokesperson. “BJ spent two months exploring British Columbia, the Yukon Territory and Alaska covering almost 4,000 miles.”

Among the 19 stops on her journey were Tok, Fairbanks, Anchorage, Homer, Valdez, Seward, Haines and Whitehorse. She visited Denali National Park and traveled the Dalton Highway across the Arctic Circle to Coldfoot.

She finished the trip in Homer and Kenai, rafted an icy river in a drysuit, sea kayaked, boated to glaciers and took an airplane flight to Denali with a landing on the Ruth Glacier.

On a catamaran trip, she had the unique experience of witnessing an incredible display of humpback whales bubble-net fishing.

“This afternoon presentation offers an interesting, educational and humorous take on traveling by RV to Alaska,” said a spokesperson.
