The Hi Desert Quilt Guild will present “Creations from the Heart,” the upcoming biennial Quilt Show Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10, in Desert Valley’s Community Complex at the Desert Empire Fairgrounds. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

“You’ll be able to enjoy and appreciate the display of 177 quilts created locally by talented quilters,” said a spokesperson. In addition to viewing the displays, visitors can shop at 22 vendor booths, and stay at the fairgrounds for lunch at the Roaming Dog Kitchen.

“A beautiful Opportunity Quilt will greet you as you enter,” said a spokesperson, who added that guild members will be selling tickets for a change to win.

Guild members will give live demonstrations, and will also offer samples of their crafts from quilts to Christmas stockings to pillowcases and other comfort items donated to a variety of organizations that serve those in need.

Visitors can browse 28 small?quilts up for bid. Registration for the auction begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and the auction begins at 2 p.m.

Drawings for prizes will be held all day Saturday and up until 3 p.m. on Sunday.
