NAWCWD recognizes Benton for years of serviceDuring a flag-raising ceremony at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake on Jan. 24, Mick Benton is recognized for 31 years of service. Benton’s early career at China Lake began in the Microelectronics Branch prior to transitioning into the Sparrow Project Office. He went on to serve as head of the Signal Processing Development Branch and later supported the Advanced Weapons Laboratory. Benton worked as a science and technology advisor in Washington, D.C., before returning to China Lake to support mission engineering and interoperability and the Precision Attack Weapons Technical Project Office. “It’s great to see so many friends, co-workers and management,” Benton said. “I really appreciate you being here.” — U.S. Navy photo by Paul Kakert
