‘Love Letters’ opens tonight at CLOTAThe Community Light Opera and Theatre Association will present a fund-raising Reader’s Theater production of A. R. Gurney’s “Love Letters,” opening tonight.

The story centers on Andy and Melissa, who write letters to each other over the course of 50 years.

“In their letters, they write about their hopes and dreams, trials and tribulations,” said a CLOTA spokesperson. “It’s a heartwarming play with a few surprises, sure to invoke a wide range of emotions from the audience.”

The material includes strong language and adult themes and is not recommended for children.

Loralynn Chrostowski makes her CLOTA directorial debut, and will also appear as Melissa in two of the performances. She and her husband John will perform in a matinee on Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 22.

Josh and Jennifer Cotterell will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 and 23.

Tickets, available at the door, are $10 each. Proceeds will help purchase a laptop and wifi “to help bring CLOTA further into the 21st century,” said the spokesperson. “These items help to bring our operating costs down while enhancing performances and audience experience.”
