In honor of her 40 years of service, Peggie Jarrett, a senior financial management analyst at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, was honored by Executive Director Joan Johnson.

“I can hardly believe I’m standing here today,” Jarrett said. “Forty years — has it really been that long? I’ve just been so blessed, honored and privileged to serve the United States of America for so long ,and I’ve just been blessed in all of the positions I’ve had. I love getting up and going to work every day. I just can’t say enough about WD and working for this activity for so long.”

Jarrett moved to Ridgecrest in 1970, but began supporting the Pacific Missile Test Center in Point Mugu in 1978 after earning a degree in business administration and management. She arrived at the Naval Weapons Center in 1980 and began working in the word- processing center.

Throughout her career, Jarrett held positions as an editorial assistant, administrative assistant and administrative officer.

“Within your area, you are considered a subject-matter expert,” Johnson said. “You are and continue to be a wonderful mentor for everybody who has an opportunity to work with you.

“Your ability to be so successful, approach your job with such a positive attitude, be a mentor and find a balance with family is phenomenal. That’s something that I value and appreciate a lot.”
