Assemblyman Fong announces committee assignments

Assemblyman Vince Fong has announced his committee assignments for the upcoming session in the lower house of the state legislature.

In addition to serving as vice chair of the Transportation Committee, he will also serve as a member on Appropriations and Budget (as well as subcommittees for resources and transportation and process, oversight and evaluation), Business and Professions and Public Employment and Retirement.

“I will continue to be a strong voice for hardworking taxpayers in the upcoming session,” he said, adding that he will also continue to fight misuse and diversions of tax dollars while holding public agencies accountable.

“Californians deserve a state government that is efficient, effective and accountable. In the upcoming session, we must focus on making California more affordable and reforming laws and regulations that continue to burden the quality of life of everyday Californians. Through these committees, I will work to make Sacramento more accountable and transparent to the public.”

Transportation’s jurisdiction includes the California High-Speed Rail Authority, California Transportation Commission, Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Transportation and a multitude of agencies and operations that impact licensing, air quality, fuels, rules of the road and more.
