Sal Ferranto Jr.

Sal Ferranto Jr. On Oct. 17, 2018, Sal Ferranto Jr., at only 50 years of age, went home to be with our precious Lord and Savior.

Born in 1968, in Covina to Sal and Mary Ann Ferranto, he quickly became the light of our lives. Growing up partially in the San Gabriel Valley, he later moved to Riverside, where he completed his primary education and graduated from high school.

In 1989 Sal enlisted in the United States Army and shortly thereafter was stationed in Saudi Arabia, where he was involved in Desert Shield. During his time in service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

After his return from the military, he lived in Ridgecrest for a short time where he worked at various jobs, and even worked for Denny’s Restaurant for a period of time. Anyone who met and got to know Sal loved him. He was very charismatic, loud and funny.

Sal was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sisters, Sharon Crawford of Wisconsin, Franki DeLuna (Walter) of Ridgecrest and Sunday Christensen (Bill) of Ridgecrest; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and many dear friends who he came to call family.

Sal will be very missed by all of his family. We love you!

Military services will be conducted at Bakersfield National Cemetery Dec. 27 at 1:15 p.m. A small remembrance reception will follow at Bear Mountain Pizza in Arvin.
