Sherry A. Zissos

Sherry A. Zissos Sherry Ann Zissos, 67, of Ridgecrest went to be with the Lord peacefully in Ontario on Dec. 5, 2018.

She was born to Marilyn Ruth Pearman and William Price on June 15, 1951, in Cairo, Ill. She moved to Ridgecrest in 1960. She attended James Monroe Middle School and Sherman E. Burroughs High School, where she graduated in 1969.

Sherry survived by her husband, Theodore Zissos; son Chad Zissos; daughter Nicole Baird; brother William Glover; sister Teri Evans; nephews Michael Glover and Jason Evans; niece Christina Evans; and granddaughters Kyla and MckayLynn Baird.

Sherry was a hairdresser for more than 30 years. She also devoted 20 years of her life to Aglow International, a nonprofit Christian woman’s organization, where she had been the local area president. During her time serving as president, she was able to breathe new life into the local area ministry. She undoubtedly committed her life to her faith and raising her children.

More than eight years ago, Sherry was diagnosed with cancer. Despite the horrible news, she always remained brave and strong in her faith. She fought a good battle. You would have never known that Sherry was struggling or fighting this battle; as even on her worst days, she would never show it. Each and every day she got up, looked her best and put others first.

Sherry was a beautiful, strong woman with a true giving spirit. She was a woman of faith, strength, and dignity. She had the biggest heart and the sweetest demeanor.

She was kind to everyone she met and had a gentle soul. She was committed to the Lord and strong in her faith. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, and grandmother.

During her time here on Earth, Sherry has tremendously touched many lives. She was truly an inspiration and was loved by so many. Our beloved Sherry will be greatly missed.

We encourage everyone who knew her to come to Desert Christian Center church on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. to celebrate her life with all her friends and family.
