Knights open their arms at Christmas

Knights open their arms at ChristmasKnights of Columbus volunteers serve up a free holiday meal at last year’s annual event. Once again, on Christmas Day, the Knights will prepare and serve a free Christmas Day dinner to those who are alone, in need, or just want to spend the holiday with the Knights. Dinner will be served from noon to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 725 W. Ridgecrest Blvd. “The Knights rely on generous donations of turkeys and many, many volunteers who donate their time from across the community to make this event a success,” said Tom Mulvihill, event chair. Diners will be served deep-pit barbecued turkey, ham, all the fixings and dessert in a festive atmosphere including performances from local musicians. Homebound residents may have their meals delivered by calling 760-375-8901 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Christmas Day. To volunteer or learn more, call 760-977-0088. — Courtesy photo
