RRH Development Foundation Christmas Tree Lane raises $3,100

RRH Development Foundation Christmas Tree Lane raises $3,100 Christian Schwartz, a physician’s assistant at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, peruses the RRH Development Foundation’s Christmas Tree Lane. For the event, sponsored by the foundation and hosted by the newly relaunched Women in Philanthropy, 20 different departments at RRH decorated tabletop trees, which were subsequently auctioned off. The event raised just more than $3,100 after costs, with those funds to go toward opening a Hospice House in Ridgecrest. According to Foundation Director Kim Metcalf, Human Resources and Administration tied for top bid-earners for the respective “Chocolate and Coffee” and “Coffee” trees. Both departments won pizza parties. Human Resources also garnered the prize for crowd favorite. Women in Philanthropy member Mary Hughes, wife of RRH’s new oncologist, brought the fund-raising idea to the group.
