Harvey Frank Collison Jr.

On Oct. 13, 2018, Harvey Frank Collison Jr. of Ridgecrest, passed away at the age of 80 in his home with his wife and daughters by his side.

Harvey was born April 4, 1938, in Harshaw, Wisc., to Harvey and Roberta Collison. He joined the Navy at age 17. He married his wife Janet in 1960. He earned his single-engine pilot’s license in 1985. He was an entrepreneur and a farmer, and finished his career as a building inspector and retired from the city of Ridgecrest in 1988. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought great joy to his life.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet Collison; and his children Roberta Collison of Ridgecrest; Lisa (Russ) Ainsworth of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Brenda (Albert) Collison of Ridgecrest.

Also surviving him are grandchildren Charlie (Bobbi), Adam (Angela), Matthew (Sarah), Ronny (Krista), Julieanne (Kyle), Christian, Jaron, Mason, and Jace; 13 great-grandchildren; his sister, Nancy Ruchti of Alton, Mo.;and brother William (Patricia) Collison of Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Roberta Collison.

A Celebration of Life service was held Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. at The Lighthouse, 111 Balsam St., Ridgecrest.
