Property tax payments due Dec. 10

Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector Jordan Kaufman issued a public reminder this week that the public that the first installment of property taxes is due.

To avoid a 10-percent late penalty, property tax payments must be made in person, online, or postmarked on or before 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10

Payment locations include:

• KCTTC Payment Center, P.O. Box 541004, Los Angeles, CA 90054-1004

• KCTTC Office, 1115 Truxtun Ave., 2nd Floor, Bakersfield

• KCTTC?website, www.kcttc.co.kern.ca.us

Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Cards can be used for payments made on the internet. A credit card service fee will be assessed based on the amount of taxes paid.

Electronic Checks can also be used (with zero fees) for internet payments. The KCTTC website has additional information.

Bills were mailed to property owners whose addresses were on file with the assessor as of Jan. 1, 2018.

If you do not have your tax bill, you may request a substitute tax bill by calling 661-868-3490 or emailing ttc@kerncounty.com. Property tax and parcel information are also available on the website.
