Escaped suspect apprehended

Ridgecrest police officers arrested a previously escaped suspect with multiple felony warrants on Saturday, Nov. 24, according to a press release. Adrian Martinez, 19 was found in the Motel 6 parking lot where he reportedly attempted to flee from Reserve Officer Micah Lloyd.

According to the release, Lloyd attempted to contact Martinez, who fled. After officers established a perimeter, Officer Michael Ogas apprehended Martinez at gunpoint in the 100 block of West Upjohn Avenue.

The suspect reportedly identified himself as Zack Liny, but officers recognized Martinez from previous encounters. Officers searched Martinez and found several syringes, one containing suspected methamphetamine.

He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and false identification to a police officer. Because of his felony warrants, including one for escape committed by force or violence, he was transported to the Ridgecrest Police Department and is being held without bail.

Two arrested in burglary

RDP officers were dispatched to 229 N. Alvord St. in the early-morning hours of Thursday, Nov. 22, regarding a possible robbery. There they discovered two burglary suspects, according to a press release.

When officers arrived, they reportedly saw a dark-colored SUV in the driveway and noticed an open window as they walked around the residence. Officers encountered two individuals, Corey Thomas Lisle, 27, and Renee Darneal Obrien, 49, who they determined were there unlawfully.

Both Lisle and Obrien were arrested for first-degree burglary and booked in the Bakersfield Central Receiving Facility on $25,000 bail. Court information was not available at press time.


Two arrested for concealed firearm

According to a press release, Sgt. Justin Dampier conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Sunset Street where he contacted driver Deanna Blakemore, 26, and her passenger Patrick Hull, Jr., 28. After searching the vehicle, he located a handgun in a backpack behind the passenger seat as well as narcotics paraphernalia,

Hull and Blakemore were taken into custody for possession of a firearm by a felon, concealed firearm in a vehicle, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and violation of probation. They were booked in the Bakersfield Central Receiving Facility. Blakemore is held on $40,000 bail, Hull on $80,000.

Hull’s felony pre-preliminary hearing and bail review are set for 10:30 a.m., Dec. 4, in Ridgecrest, followed by a preliminary hearing on Dec. 6.

Blakemore’s felony arraignment is at 9 a.m., Dec. 6, in Ridgecrest.
