Chamber seeks new CEOThe Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerced announced a search for a new chief executive officer, following the resignation of Suzette Caufield.

“Former executive Jan Bennett will be assisting with management oversight as the chamber begins a search,” said a press release.

According to a chamber spokesperson, Caufield left the chamber mid-November after 15 months with the organization. She will take on the role of economic development specialist for Kern County, where she will represent the Ridgecrest-Indian Wells Valley area.

“As the CEO of the chamber, I have worked with the board, staff, volunteers and members to start new programs and provide additional resources for our members and our community. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with the chamber as our community works together to address the goals of the East Kern Economic Diversification Plan.”

“We wish Suzette well in her new position with the county,” said chamber board chair Daryl Silberberg.
