Blue Angel heralds suspected return of Top Gun 2 crew

Blue Angel heralds suspected return of Top Gun 2 crewThe iconic Blue Angel No. 2, as photographed by 13-year-old Jonah Gilbert, flies over the Indian Wells Valley in the afternoon of Nov. 7. “According to my father, who works on base, this Blue Angel was in a film segment for Top Gun 2,” the local teen emailed the News Review. Although China Lake and Inyokern Airport officials have cited nondisclosure agreements that prohibit them from discussing the project, other sources loosely connected to the highly anticipated sequel have confirmed that crews and actors have been spending time in the valley, while Tom Cruise reportedly flies in for his part of the project. According to an insider, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, a rewrite of the film’s ending brought crews back into town this week. However, the Blue Angels are reportedly being recording for their sound, not for their images. — Courtesy photo
