Paul M. Holt

Paul M. HoltOn Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, Paul Michael Holt, loving husband, father and papaw, passed away at the age of 74 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Paul was born May 10, 1944, in Baltimore, Md., to Paul and Marjorie Holt. He was raised in Raleigh, N.C., and was a true Southern gentleman.

Paul was a Vietnam Veteran and was proud to have served his country that he loved so much. He was a dedicated supporter of our service members and would always anomalously pay their restaurant check when given the opportunity. Paul never met a stranger and a “quick” trip to the grocery store was never “quick” as he loved to talk to the people he would encounter.

Paul loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest passion. He was the best Papaw and was so proud of each of them. He always had time to listen, offer advice, and support in whatever way they needed. Our family is blessed to have so many wonderful memories of our Papaw. We miss him so much.

Paul was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Beyer-Leach, father, Paul, and mother Marjorie. He is survived by his loving wife Darlene Hollar, daughter and son-in-law Kelly and John Newton, sister-in-law Rae Rhyn, sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Tommy Watkins, Grandchildren Megan, Jacob, Zachary and Molly, and great grandchildren Haley, Cody, Lilly and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
