Lawrence Eugene Shrubb

Lawrence Eugene “Larry” Shrubb passed away on Oct. 5, 2018, after a brief illness. A celebration of his life will be held in May 2019, in Randsburg. Notice of time and place will be announced at a later date.

Larry was born on May 14, 1949, in Kane, Penn. In 1988, he moved to Ridgecrest. There, he met his wife Marie of 25 years, in 1992. Larry and Marie married in 1993 and settled in Johannesburg.

From 1989 to 2004, Larry worked at the China Lake Naval Air Warfare Station, where he retired in 2004.

He also enjoyed helping out as a bartender at the White House Saloon for more than 10 years.

On June 17, 2000, he became a Clamper, Slim Princess Chapter No. 395 in Lone Pine, for “The Adobe Wall,” California.

Larry enjoyed horseshoes, camping, Western reenactments in Randsburg, Lone Pine (aka “Dakota Jack”), mountain man campouts, woodworking projects, NASCAR races and NFL Football — all in the company of good friends.

Larry is survived by wife Marie L. Shrubb; sib Daniel Shrubb and daughter in-law Mery, of Ventura; daughter Tracy Shrubb-Proefrock and son in-law Charles Proefrock; grandchildren Cody Shrubb of Las Vegas, Corey MacDonald of Ventura and Adrianna and Daniel Shrubb of Ventura; rother Raymond Shrubb and sister in-law Denise Shrubb of Santa Maria; brother-in-law Donald Standard of Inyokern; brother-in-law Bill Haskin of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

He will truly be missed by all his family and friends — we love you!
