Halloween horror at Historic USOThe Historic USO Building will host a horror film from Hollywood’s Golden Age on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. The Halloween favorite will be screened as part of the Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert’s ongoing “Classic Movie Night” series.

The license agreement prohibits HSUMD from releasing the title of the film, but according to movie host Nick Rogers, “Elsa Lanchester stars as the object of Boris Karloff’s desire in this crazy, cult classic that has had audiences in ‘stitches’ since its premiere in 1935.

“Come in costume, and you just might win a prize from one of our awesome sponsors!”

Sponsors include Cathy Kline’s Floral Accents, the Historic USO Building Gift Shop, the Maturango Museum, Ridgecrest Cinemas, Roaming Dog Kitchen, S & M Coins and Collectibles and Warren’s Automotive.

Snack bar favorites include low-priced signature sandwich plates, the “Crumville” hotdog, the “Coso Queso” grilled cheese sandwich. popcorn, sodas and other treats, all on sale for nominal fees.Kids will get free ice cream and goodies.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are always welcome.
