Immanuel Christian School returned home victorious after competing against a field of 27 other opponents in last weekend’s VexJets Robotics Tournament in Lancaster.

In the qualifier rounds, ICS Teams 7496S and 7496C ranked second and fifth, respectively. “The competition was very intense, and many teams had strong robots,” said John Paul of Robotics for STEM, sponsors of the ICS robotics teams.

In the finals, Team 7496S prevailed, taking the championship with a score of 30-2 in the semi-finals and 23-9 in the finals.

“We are also competing in the High Desert Vex League competitions for both middle and high school teams held in Hesperia.”

Currently, one local high school is ranked No. 1, and one middle school team is ranked No. 2.

“We have two more one-day events with finals for this league scheduled for early 2019.”

“Thanks to NDTI and ALM for sponsoring the robotics program, we are making an impact in getting students interested in the STEM fields while giving back to the local community,” said Paul.
