Robert E. Pearce

Robert E. PearceRobert Edward Pearce died suddenly Oct. 1, 2018, after living several years at Bella Sera.

A resident of Ridgecrest since 1949, Robert was born Dec. 12, 1935, in Oakland to Willard and Elizabeth Pearce. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Marie Halsey (Carl) and a nephew, David Halsey (Sharon).

He is survived by his brother, Harold (Darla), niece, Jennifer Pearce of Sandpoint, Idaho, and nephews, Greg Halsey (Suzan) of Ridgecrest and Ron Halsey (Bridget) of Costa Mesa.

Robert worked at Cookseys Auto Shop until he was injured in a severe automobile accident. Despite having very little schooling and poor vision, he started and operated a trash-hauling and yard-cleaning business for many years.

He worked hard and overcame many obstacles. Many of his customers became his friends. He enjoyed traveling, eating out and listening to music of the ’50s and ’60s.

He was a member of St. Ann’s Church. Deeply appreciated is the care of the Legion of Mary to visit and pray with him weekly while he was at Bella Sera. Much gratitude is owed to Pat Keller, and his wife Marcie, who took him to many doctors’ appointments and church services. Pat was a faithful friend.

Rosary was held Oct. 10 at the H.K. Holland Memorial Chapel. Mass was held Oct. 11 at St. Ann Catholic Church.
