Tortoise club to meet Monday

The local chapter of the California Turtle and Tortoise Club will meet Monday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Maturango Museum.

“Fall is here, and winter is on its way, so our desert tortoises are going to be getting ready to brumate (hibernate),” said Bob Parker. “Come to our meeting to pick up some tips on a successful winter rest.”

Our program will feature a presentation on sulcata tortoises and other exotics kept as pets. “We will discuss any issue brought up.”
