Flu shot clinic is Oct. 23

The Kern County Public Health Services Department announced that residents can get low-cost flu shots for $9 each at various locations across the county.

“The flu vaccine is the best way to protect against the flu,” said Matt Constantine, Public Health Services director. “The flu can be a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Tragically, last flu season we lost two of our community members due to influenza. We urge residents to protect themselves and their loved ones by getting their annual flu shots.”

In Ridgecrest, a low-cost flu-shot clinic will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 10:30 a.m. to noon and 1-2:30 p.m. at the county administration complex at 400 N. China Lake Blvd.
