Marion Cornelius Boling

Marion Cornelius BolingMarion “JR” Cornelius Boling, Jr., was born Nov. 24, 1942, in Emporia, Kans., and died Sept. 20, 2018, at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.

Marion served in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 3, 1964, to March 1, 1986. While serving on board PCF 99, in Kinh Xang Canal, South Vietnam, he sustained fragment wounds as a result of enemy attack on Aug. 1, 1970, and was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon and the Purple Heart. He retired from the Navy as an engineman first class with more than 22 years of naval service. He was a life member of both the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Marion had many friends in Ridgecrest and was always available to donate his time and efforts to helping others. Whenever anyone needed help or assistance all they had to do was call upon JR. He will not be forgotten!

He will be laid to rest in the Rose Garden of Desert Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
