EDC to present franchising seminar

EDC to present franchising seminar“Ever wonder why Ridgecrest doesn’t have a specific restaurant or service in town? Many well-known businesses are franchises which only expand into an area if an interested franchisee opens a location,” said Rebecca McCourt of the IWV Economic Development Corp.

To help education the public on what it takes to become a franchisee, how to start and what is trending in popularity, the EDC will host a franchising seminar Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. in the conference room of SpringHill Suites.

Franchisers provide the name and proprietary operations of a known brand name in return for a fee. Anyone interested in learning more is invited to attend.

“Talk with those who have done it, and hear what franchisors are looking for in potential partners,” said McCourt.

EDC is partnering with California State University, Bakersfield Small Business Development Center, for the seminar. The venue is sponsored by Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.
