RCMS brings piano-clarinet duo to IWVThe Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society will host the Shtrykov-Tanaka Duo Sunday, Sept. 30, at 4 p.m. at the Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church.

The concert will include music by Prokofiev, Piano Sonata No. 2 in D Minor, Op.14 (1912), Prokofiev, Sonata for Clarinet & Piano, Op. 94 (1943), Gretchaninov, Sonata No. 2 for Clarinet & Piano, Op. 172 (1943), Rachmaninoff, Preludes, Op. 23, No. 2, 4, and 5, Rosenblatt, Carmen Fantasy on Themes from Opera by Bizet (1993).

“The Shtrykov-Tanaka Duo, comprised of two sensationally gifted and acclaimed virtuosi, clarinetist Maksim Shtrykov and pianist Misuzu Tanaka, has performed on many eminent concert series throughout the U.S. and abroad,” said a concert series spokesperson.

Both artists are graduates of The Juilliard School and enjoy extensive international solo careers that have heard them in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Germany’s Leipzig Gewandhaus and Japan’s Izumi Hall.
