Friends of Library to hold Fall Book Sale

The Friends of the Ridgecrest Branch Library will hold its annual Fall Book Sale the next two Saturdays, Sept. 15 and Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1301 N. Norma (in the Sierra Vista Center next to China Lake Baptist Church).

Members will gain entry into the sale at 9 a.m. Memberships can also be purchased at the door.

“For the second year, a tantalizing Cupcake War will be held on Sept. 22 in conjunction with the sale,” said a spokesperson. “Those with a sweet tooth will be able to sample many delicious cupcakes from expert bakers for a small donation, and then vote for their favorite. Don’t miss this tasteful Ridgecrest special event!”

The sale offers many bargains and surprises in store for readers. In addition to hardbound and paperback books, there are magazines, audio books, tiny books, special collectible books, as well as videos, and music CDs.

There are books for children, and special gift items, e.g. book bags, t-shirts, and note cards for the book lover. Posters, collectible records, and a variety of unique items will be for sale.

“The prices are lower than any in town. This is a great time to stock up.”

All of the proceeds will support programs and materials for the library.
