Library to screen film series Saturday

KERN COUNTY LIBRARY — Every year, the Kern County Library branches participate in the One Book Project, tackling a topic designed to get our communities to discuss. The themes revolve around prison systems, incarceration, the effects of family and the community, prevention, and more. There are multiple book selections for various ages along with other activities for various ages.

One of the many events held this fall will be held at the Ridgecrest Branch Library when filmmakers Ramon Hamilton and Jennifer Fischer will present their gripping short film series, THE wHOLE on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.

THE wHOLE is a short film series from award winning production company and arts education leader Think Ten Media Group, founded by Ramon Hamilton and Jennifer Fischer. Hamilton wrote, directed, and edited the series and Fischer produced.

The filmmakers said they are eager to present the film series and engage in a discussion about prison systems in the United States. The films are for mature audiences due to language and violence.
