Marilyn Jean BezansonMarilyn Jean “Mari” Bezanson, age 50, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, Aug. 7, in Ridgecrest from an intermittent battle with small-cell lung cancer.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the H.K. Holland Memorial Chapel, 216 S. Norma St. Ridgecrest.

Mari was born July 1, 1968, to Charles H. Bezanson and Jacqueline P. Pearson in Cumberland County, Brunswick, Maine.

Mari lived many places because her father was in the Navy. They ended up in California, where she mainly grew up. As a child she enjoyed many things like riding her bike and catching bugs, As Mari grew up she took care of her two younger sisters and one younger brother. As an early adult, she met Earl Clyde Guess and got married. They had two children, Alex and Nicole Guess.

She had a lot of friends and enjoyed going out with them all the time. In her late 30s, she met John Scheiderer, and they spent a lovely 12 years together. They adopted three kids into their little life and got married in 2018. Mari worked at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division as an office manager for many years. She enjoyed her job and her coworkers.

She was preceded in death by Charles H. Bezanson, Caleb Bezanson and Jacqueline P. Pearson.

She is survived by her husband John P. Scheiderer; children Alexander H. Guess (son), Samantha E. Hardy (daughter-in-law), Keylie K. Bezanson (daughter), Kambriah K. Bezanson (daughter), Kaddarinah K. Bezanson (daughter) and Nicole M. Guess (daughter); sisters Loretta Hart, Sally Bezanson and Pamela Bezanson-Soard; brothers Victor Hart, Robert Scusa and Ric Soard; stepmother Carol Bezanson and in-laws Walter P. Scheiderer and Debbie A. Scheiderer.
