Future home of new shopping center ...Pacific Gas & Electric crews are doing preliminary work for “Shoppes at China Lake” a planned retail complex on the corner of South China Lake Boulevard and East Bowman Road, across the street from the Walmart Supercenter. The 16-acre lot will be home to several large retail buildings with parking. According to City Manager Ron Strand, there’s “nothing firm” about what businesses we may see, but development partner Ted Zwicker of NAI Capital is still in talks with prospective tenants. — Photo by Laura Austin
