Thomas J. NiessenThomas J. Niessen, 75, died in Kern Medical Center, Bakersfield, on July 11, 2018, with Ann, his wife of more than 33 years, by his side.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he lived in many places, finally making Ridgecres his home for the last 33 years. Tom had three major interests: his careers in both electronics and music, and working with HO-gauge model trains and modeling layouts.

Tom was predeceased by his mother Grace, father Albert, brother Al and sister Mary and her husband Dave Cuff.

He is succeeded in life by his wife Ann, stepchildren Hal and Cindy (husband Steven), beloved grandchildren Vinnie and Laura, nephews Mike (Penny) Cuff and Rob (Janet) Cuff, and many other relatives, by all of whom he will be greatly missed. Military services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, July 30, at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Arthritis Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project.
