Ann E. Wilson

Ann E. WilsonAfter a long, hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer, Ann Elizabeth Wilson peacefully left this world to join the Lord on June 21, 2018, at the age of 64.

She was under excellent care at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, where she had worked as an ICU registered nurse for many years. The family would like to express extreme heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Paul Stemmer, his office and staff, and all the RNs, LVNs, CNAs, phlebotomists, respiratory therapists and other hospital staff that cared for her during her many inpatient stays in the Intensive Care Unit and on Mountain View. The care she received was above and beyond, as many attending to her were not only co-workers but wonderful friends as well.

Ann was born in Upland on Sept. 16, 1953, and had lived in Inyokern and Ridgecrest since 1989. She was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed backpacking, hiking, camping, skiing, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, swimming and trips to the beach.

She enjoyed traveling, with trips that included visiting Ensenada, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Hawaii, Tahiti, Singapore; camping and backpacking trips to the Sierras and to the beach; as well as many trips to the San Diego area to be with her beloved children and grandchildren. Ann also enjoyed reading, dancing, sewing, crocheting, puzzles, crosswords and computer games. While she was often quiet and introverted, she was resilient and hard working, had a love for life and enjoyed trying new things. Ann was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, nurse, friend and follower of God.

Ann is survived by her husband, Craig Wilson of Inyokern; daughters, Amy McGhee (son-in-law Jason) and Jennifer Sherman (son-in-law Justin) and stepson Craig Wilson Jr. (daughter-in-law Zephyr), all living in the San Diego area; stepdaughter, Sandra Brock (son-in-law Jay), living in Ft. Irwin; grandchildren Tyler, Jason, Ryan, Matthew, Morgan, Eli, Kayla and Ariana; father, William Richards, Sr., of Huntington Beach; brother, William Richards Jr. of Las Vegas; and half brothers, Mark and Christopher Richards.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Barabara Ann DeAngelis (1995) and Robert E. DeAngelis (2018).

The family invites friends to join them at Crossroads Community Church on Saturday, June 30. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. with the service to follow at noon.

Burial will be at Desert Memorial Park directly afterward.
