County certifies election results

County certifies election resultsThe Kern County Elections Division announced on June 22 the official final results of the June 5 Primary Election.

The final count did not change any of the state and local offices selected by voters earlier this month. The official tallies are available at elections.co.kern. ca.us/electionsnew/results/index?ID=96.

The Statement of Votes Cast, which gives a breakdown of the votes according to precinct, has not yet been posted. It will be uploaded at elections.co.kern.ca.us/elections/sovc.asp when it has been completed.

Statewide results, posted on the Secretary of State’s website (https://vote.sos.ca.gov/) are still listed as semi-official as other counties in California work through the process of certification.

“Election results are updated as often as new data is received from county elections offices after the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day,” reads a message on the site. “Many ballots are not counted on Election Day; county elections officials plan to complete their work by July 6, 2018.”
