The Ridgecrest Police Department released a second surveillance video last week showing the vehicle believed to be used in the May 26 burglary of Mather Bros, Inc., on South Downs Street. The department is requesting the public’s help in locating the truck and driver.

Previous security camera footage shows a masked crowbar-wielding suspect entering the building in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 26. The suspect reportedly stole a truck, a safe and other property from the business.

The latest video shows a vehicle passing by the building a few seconds behind the suspect in the stolen truck. Officers believe the second vehicle may be related to the burglary. Facebook commentors describe that vehicle as a mid- ’90s-to-mid-2000s Chevrolet S-10 or similar-looking truck (GMC Sonoma or Isuzu Hombre).

The business owners are still offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s).

Anybody with pertinent information is encouraged to contact Detective Patrick Harlow at 760-499-5112, send a message to RPD’s Facebook page or send an anonymous tip through Nixle (text 888777 to RIDGECRESTPD to sign up).

Video footage and other information is on RPD’s Facebook page (facebook.com/ridgecrestpd).
