Grace welcomes new pastor

Grace welcomes new pastorGrace Luthern Church announced this week the arrival of its new pastor, Rev. Kris Madsen, along with his wife, Jenn.

Pastor Madsen will begin his ministry June 14.

“Grace invites the community to come help welcome the Madsens to Ridgecrest,” said a spokesperson.

Worship services are held at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Sundays, and at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesdays.

A native of Solvang, Madsen comes to Ridgecrest after having served congregations in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Fresno.

He holds a bacholor’s degree in religion from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks and a master of divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn.

In addition to his congregational ministry, Madsen has served on a variety of boards including camp, nursing home, veteran and family ministries.

Jenn, a native of Milwaukee, Wisc., grew up Mission Viejo and is a teacher by trade.

In addition to the many and varied ministries Jenn has partcipated in, her most unique ministry was as the crew chief of the Lutheran Hour Ministries float in Pasadena’s Tournament of Roses Parade.
