Services for Mike BlackshawThe memorial service for Michael G. “Mike” Blackshaw, who died May 10, 2018, will be held June 16 at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Anglican Church, located in the Immanuel Christian School Chapel.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you bring your favorite dish or snack and stories and memories about Mike to share at the reception following the service.

Born in Glendale on April 8, 1966, he was immediately adopted by his parents, George and Glenda Blackshaw. Mike grew up in Ridgecrest and went through the school system until his graduation in 1984.

He served in the U.S. Army before he began his career with the AT&T corporate office in Washington state, where he worked as a supervisor in the Network Operations Center.

Michael is survived by his children Jessica English of Bakersfield and Michael-John Blackshaw of Bothell, Wash.; stepdaughter Hillary Warren of Bothell; and stepson Cameron Warren of Idaho. He was also grandfather to Aiden English and Jonalee English, both of Bakersfield.

Michael is also survived by his loving mother Glenda Blackshaw of Ridgecrest, older brother Brian “Bammer” (Sue) Blackshaw of Ridgecrest and younger sister Jennifer Claire of Port Orchard, Wash.; nieces Nikkole (Blackshaw) Richardson, Brittney Blackshaw and Katie Alexander, all of Ridgecrest; and Breanne (Haun) Penalver of Gig Harbor, Wash., as well as countless other family members and friends.
