The Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert is proud to present the Classic Movie Nights’ sixth annual “Summer of Movie Magic” featuring a variety of family-friendly films and thrilling terror classics from Universal Studios on alternating Wednesdays at the Historic USO Building, 230 W. Ridgecrest Blvd.

See these films the way they were originally presented... on the big screen with stereo surround sound ... in a beautiful theater-like setting, sponsored by outstanding local businesses and organizations, Baxendale’s, Cordell Construction Co., Cosner-Neipp Computing, Center Pharmacy (a service of Ridgecrest Regional Hospital), Jack and Dana Lyons – Best Realty, the Maturango Museum, the Museum of Western Film History (in Lone Pine), Red Rock Books, Ridgecrest Area Conven-tion and Visitors Bureau, Ridgecrest Cinemas, Ridge Writers, Roaming Dog Kitchen, Romancing the West, S & M Coins and Collectibles, Tender Cuts Meats and Warren’s Automotive.

For each film the Historic USO will open its doors at 6:30 p.m. to invite hungry patrons to visit the thrifty Snack Bar featuring our famous “Crumville” hotdog plate, the popular new “Coso Queso” grilled cheese sandwich (both culinary creations lovingly made with ingredients supplied by new sponsor Tender Cuts Meats), handmade sodas from the Indian Wells Brewing Company, freshly popped corn (from our beautiful new popping machine donated by sponsors Jack and Dana Lyons), hot coffee with free refills, frosty ice cream (free to the kiddies!) and a variety of favorite candies.

All films will screen at 7 p.m. each Wednesday, all summer long ... until Aug. 8. Admission is, as always, free, but you know how much we appreciate those generous donations! Remember... if it’s Wednesday, it’s Classic Movie Night ... all summer long. For film titles or more information, give us a call at 760-375-8456, or stop by for a film schedule.
