Carolyn Anne Burns

Carolyn Anne Burns went to join her savior on Feb. 7, 2018. She was born to William and Judy Burns Jan. 9, 1972, at the Ridgecrest Hospital.

Carolyn attended several Ridgecrest schools during the years she was growing up. In the Ridgecrest Sidewinders 4-H Club, she earned the All-Star Leader rank, the highest rank the county can award.

Carolyn received her high school diploma from Antelope Valley Adult School in July 1992.

She went on to Antelope Valley College and Chapman University, Antelope Valley Campus, where she graduated with a bachelor of arts in social science. Carolyn continued on to earn a master of arts in special education from California State University, San Bernardino. She taught classes in Ridgecrest, Adelanto and Bakersfield schools before being forced to retire because of disabilities.

Carolyn continued as a substitute teacher in Tulare County school districts until her passing in Porterville.

She was preceded in death by her mother Judy. Carolyn’s father, William, lives in Ridgecrest, and her brother Alan lives in Chicago. There will be a private internment in Ridgecrest.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ridgecrest 4-H Club would be appreciated.
