Stabbing suspect arrested

A stabbing suspect is being charged with attempted murder following his arrest by officers of the Ridgecrest Police Department.

According to an RPD release, officers responded to the 400 block of South Holly Canyon Drive on Thursday, May 17, at about 5:30 p.m. regarding a reported stabbing.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found a victim lying on the sidewalk, bleeding from an apparent stab wound to his left side. They located suspect Michael Anthony Pinkney, 36, down the street where they took him into custody.

According to the release, the victim was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster where he was treated and released. Pinkney was transported to the Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield and is being held on a $525,000 bail.
