Graduation ceremonies scheduled

Hundreds of graduates are expected to receive their diplomas in the coming weeks as local schools hold commencement exercises for students in the Indian Wells Valley.

The 23 graduates of the Sierra Sands Adult School will participate in ceremonies Thursday, May 24, at 6 p.m. in the Parker Performing Arts Center at Burroughs High School.

On Thursday, May 31, Mesquite High School will hold its graduation ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. on campus. At press time, 20 students had met graduation requirements, and another 10-12 were expected to be eligible to graduate leading up to commencement.

With 291 graduates, Burroughs High School will hold its ceremonies on Friday, June 1, at 8 p.m. in the BHS Football Stadium.

Local middle schools will also hold promotion ceremonies for 8th graders beginning with Immanuel Christian School’s on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the worship center on Graaf Street.

James Monroe Middle School promotion will be held Thursday, May 31, at 7:30 a.m. in the Kerr McGee Center. Murray Middle School promotion will follow directly after that at 10 a.m.

Ridgecrest Charter School will hold promotion ceremonies Thursday, May 31, at 5;30 p.m. at Desert Christian Center.
