Louie, Neel to address Dems

The Democratic Club of the High Desert will host Kern County Superior Court Judge (Seat N. 10) candidate Chad Louie as one of the speakers for the Saturday, May 19, meeting at 11:30 a.m. at China Lake Buffet.

Chad Louie is a fourth-generation Bakersfield native and 12-year veteran deputy district attorney for Kern County. (See related story, Page A2, for additional information on his professional background.)

On a personal note, Louie’s passion lies in exploring the outdoors with his son Ethan and wife Sarah who he met in high school, participating in family church activities, and encouraging his son’s endless curiosity. Chad is a student of American jurisprudence and the Constitution; his devotion to the founders’ principles of equal rights and justice for all is unequivocal.

Mike Neel will also address the club about the proposed parks assessment.

Neel is a 40-year resident of Ridgecrest who, along with his wife, raised five children here. He has coached soccer, worked on behalf of children’s human rights and attended local churches.

The public is invited to attend. Attendees are responsible for purchasing their own food and beverages.
