Edna May Noles Oshel

Edna May Noles OshelEdna May Heath was born in Lakeland, Fla., on Sept. 16, 1927, to Walter Bliss Heath and Ada Pauline Roberson. She had two brothers, Gerald Walter Heath, who died in infancy; and Everett Eugene Heath, who died as a young child.

Edna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed her family. In 1947 she went to work at the Naval Ordnance Test Station in China Lake. She married, had a daughter, and spent 26 wonderful years there and in Ridgecrest. Edna lived in Lancaster for the last 37 years. She was a member of the Lancaster Methodist Church and a retired Palmdale City Library clerk.

Edna departed this life in Lancaster on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 90 years old. She left us with many fond memories of a life filled with love, laughter and optimism.

Edna was predeceased by her parents, along with her first husband Ronald Clifford Noles of 27 years, and her second husband Warren Wesley Oshel of 15 years.

Edna has a daughter Karen Lynne (Noles) Mahoney (husband Jimmy), and four stepsons, Thomas Warren Oshel (wife Donna), Jon Alan Oshel (wife Ginny), Paul Michael Oshel (deceased) (wife Katherine) and Brian Patrick Oshel.

Edna has nine grandchildren, Brian Mahoney, Jamie (Mahoney) Donahue, Erick Oshel, Greg Oshel, Jill Brouillard, Marla Friedler, Suzanne Ryerson, Sarah Oshel and Carly Oshel. She also has 13 great-grandchildren.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Cancer Society or Lancaster United Methodist Church.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 26, at 1 p.m. at Lancaster United Methodist Church. Flowers may be delivered to the church between noon and 1 p.m. on the day of services.
