Arlyn ‘Gene’ Mizner

Arlyn “Gene” Mizner passed away peacefully March 28, 2018, in Nampa, Idaho at the age of 80, with his loving wife at his side.

We will have a celebration for Gene’s life in May, when his entire family will be together.

He was born Sept. 21, 1937, in Alexandria, S.D., the youngest of three children. Gene proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Navy. While serving in the Philippines, he met the love of his life, who he would be married to for 51 years. After he retired, he received a degree in horticulture to further his interest in gardening.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ruth, and brother-in-law George Mowry. He is survived by his wife Marina; daughters, Suzanne Miranda (Joe), Ruth Sanchez, Jennifer Neale (Matt) and Christina Shepard (Scott); sisters Shirley Mowry and Berne Thury (Jack); and half-siblings Bill, Barb, Keith and Kevin. He will be sorely missed by his seven grandchildren, Kevin, Matthew (Cameron), Nicholas, Daniel, Charles, Gabbi and Sydney, plus great-granddaughters, Khali and Emma.

We are forever grateful that Gene leaves us with so many funny stories and great memories.
